A whimsical stone footpath creates a keyhole bed that holds a natural stone birdbath and tall flowers. The dark house creates a backdrop for white variegated dogwood shrubs, orange grasses, and light purple flowers that play with the large mature rhododendron on the side yard. Scented plants like daphne, choisya, and mock orange dot the perimeter and will add year-round privacy as they mature. We removed the old brick patio and cobble and set it aside for future projects. No new formal hardscape was desired, and so a simple bluestone footpath was installed to invite you into the garden. The front planters will be refreshed seasonally.
